Description: DIVUS COMMODUS Denarius (AR; 17mm; 2.49g; 6h) AD 195. [M COM]M ANTO-N AVG PIV[S FEL] Laureate head of Commodus to right. Rev. CONSE-CRATIO Eagle standing on globe to left, head to right. Ex Melcher coll. (CNG 61, 2002, 1828) and Ploil coll, I (NAC 87, Zurich 2015, 283). BMCRE V p. 42, * (Septimius Severus); C. 61 (Commodus); RIC IV, 1 p. 99, 72a (Septimius Severus).
Preservation: Good very fine. Nice portrait. Slightly toned, but bit rough. Very rare.
