Description: C. Piso L.f. Frugi Denarius (AR; 16-17mm; 3.89g; 7h) 67 bc. Head of Apollo to right, hair bound with fillet; behind, symbol, lituus, decorated with feathers (?). Rev. Horseman galloping to right, below, C PISO L F FRV and S. Ex Glendining 25 June 1970, 10. Bab. (Calpurnia) 24; BMCRR I – cf. p. 456 (symbol on obverse, letter on reverse); Cr. 408/1b no.30; RBW 1459 var (Symbol); Syd. 850.
Preservation: Almost extremely fine. Rare symbol. Nice toning.
